Saint Shiromani Acharya Pravar Shree Vidyasagar Ji Mahamuniraj, a revered figure in the Jain community, left his mortal body today, 17th February, at Chandragiri Teerth in Dongargarh. According to reports, he took Samadhi at 2:35 pm, marking the end of an era.
Renowned for his wisdom and contributions to national welfare, Acharya Vidyasagar Ji was born in Karnataka and dedicated his life to spiritual pursuits. He embraced formal writings and led a life of asceticism, renouncing worldly attachments and maintaining unbroken silence.
On 6th February, in a profound act of renunciation, Acharya Vidyasagar Ji resigned from his post as Acharya after consulting with fellow monks. He passed on the responsibility to his disciple, Niryapak Shraman Muni Shri Samaysagar Ji Maharaj, marking a significant transition in the spiritual leadership.
Until his last moments, Acharya Vidyasagar Ji remained in a state of deep meditation, surrounded by his disciples and devotees. He peacefully left his mortal body at Chandragiri Tirtha, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and compassion.
His departure leaves a void in the spiritual realm, but his teachings will continue to inspire generations to come. The procession of his dola will take place at Chandragiri Teerth Dongargarh, allowing followers to pay their last respects.
